Lost of taste- why’s it making me so sad?

I tested positive for the virus last Tuesday after my lovely partner seemed to bring it home from work (9 others tested positive at his work)
We both seemed to have mild cases. Headache,Temp and aches and pains. On Sunday/ Monday just gone I realised I have completely lost my taste and sense of smell.

Since then I have just cried solidly. My Boyfriend is absolutely fine and dandy and I’m just sobbing.

Can anyone relate? I’m so anxious it won’t come back? It seems pointless eating or drinking and I have this horrible feeling in my throat.

I could deal with not eating if I wasn’t so blinking hungry!
I feel bad as I have no desire to cook anything or even attempt to feed my step children this weekend!

Apart from the taste/smell I feel fine!

Someone tell me it will come back soon!?!

I hope it comes back sooner for you than my boss. He's nearly a year since having it and it still hasn't come back.

The sadness may actually be another symptom - my friend had it recently and spent a couple of days just crying and feeling really low, which is unusual for her as she’s usually the life and soul. She’s still a bit tired a few weeks on, but thankfully other symptoms have all cleared up.

Flowers to all who’ve had it and are still suffering

I lost my taste and smell on day 6 of symptoms, they gradually came back about one week later. Its a very strange sensation so totally get it.
