Not that I like to listen to the PM, but I have contacted everyone I know to get them vaccinated now.

@Lilmzsnowflake you can book it yourself now online: www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 11/02/2021 11:06

My local area is still working on Group 1 but beginning to arrange Group 2.

Lilmzsnowflake · 11/02/2021 12:49

Thank you so much @ExpulsoCorona when I looked before staff couldn’t use that link. All booked for after work tomorrow!

IdblowJonSnow · 11/02/2021 12:51

Yes but they are being 'done' tomorrow.

BigWoollyJumpers · 11/02/2021 12:57

All of the family who qualify by age have been done now, and including those over 65. East of England, and South East.

BigWoollyJumpers · 11/02/2021 12:59

@Lilmzsnowflake

Yes, me. Group 2, NHS front line but not at a hospital, I travel around to different sites. Keep getting missed off lists or unable to get to last minute slots in time due to distance. I’ve been promised a proper appointment link email this week but won’t hold my breath. I’m not so worried about myself but about the various vulnerable people I’m in contact with. I’m certain there are other staff in the same position.
Can you explain why you can't book centrally? Does the national system not allow a booking if not by age? I am presuming you have to do it through a work link? How do CEV get a booking if younger than 70?
pinkhappy · 11/02/2021 13:24

*BigWoollyJumpers

CEV people can book online but it does require their GP to have corrected coded them, I think.

All of the residents in the care home where I work, most of the staff in the home although the staff are starting to get places at local hub.

If there is a care home where no one has been offered the jab then you can report this. I would start with 119 or your local GP surgery. They really won't want this to get into the press.

I can’t believe the disparity between areas. They are flying through them where I am, I’m group 6, was contacted last Friday and had my first vaccination on Saturday
FuzzyPuffling · 11/02/2021 13:31

Our PCN has only this morning put out a statement saying they are still doing Group 4 here, and have no idea when they will move onto Group 5.

We have been in frequent touch with the local team, they are hoping to get to us before the end of the month. I'd contact the press but the manager wants to maintain a good relationship with the local NHS team.

One I'm not sure about - was recovering from non-covid illness and not sure if they could be done. Suspect one local anti-vaxer is old enough to qualify. Anyone else I know is those groups has been done.

canigooutyet · 11/02/2021 13:49

Recently recieved my invite. Group 4 in my 40’s.

The nhs link isn’t just for staff btw.

PuzzledObserver · 11/02/2021 13:55

@ComtesseDeSpair which calculator is that? The one I’ve been using doesn’t have any local information

AfternoonToffee · 11/02/2021 13:57

89 year old MIL been in hospital since November last year, now in a care home, caught covid on the ward. Having it today.

mootymoo · 11/02/2021 14:10

They are working through group 5 here. Drs said that they are having issues with care home staff refusing though and some families have refused to consent for dementia patients because they don't want to put them through the stress of vaccination, and that as they have no quality of life they accept the likely consequences

Bilgepumper · 11/02/2021 14:11

I have a black friend who isn't going to have the vaccine. I've tried to persuade her. We have other friends who have caught Covid just before getting the vaccine, one has died.

alreadytaken · 11/02/2021 14:23

ane the one I wasnt sure about has now been able to have it. So that just leaves one local rabid anti-vaxer.

pinkhappy · 11/02/2021 14:40

That's pretty terrible. In your position I would at least raise this further up the chain. You may be able to do it anonymously.

Does this apply to Scotland too? The link said you had to be in England.

Thanks to all those who suggested trying to book it yourself. I'm not sure if we can.

I know someone who is CEV who hasn't had it. Household member caught it so they were isolating and couldn't go, then they caught it and will have to wait now. Fortunately they are recovering.
