Is there a legal obligation to isolate if the app alone tells you?

Dh is tested weekly, and has had both covid (2 months ago) and, due to his job, the vaccine 3 weeks ago.

He has been told today via an app notification that he needs to SI for 4 more days.

Is there a legal obligation if told via the app? Or is it a phone call from T&T only?

He only goes to work, the supermarket when needed (we utilise deliveries etc) and home. Oh, and he attended a funeral today (so not a regular trip).

He intends to - he doesn't want to get in trouble. But I'm curious as to the legal requirement. Surely he could just not have had the app or delete it following the notification.

Why have the app if he wants to ignore it?
It is not legally enforceable unlike test and trace. Sounds like he had close contact 6 days ago if only 4 days are remaining

No there's not, but I agree with dementedpixie, why have it? I deleted it as it's not fit for purpose.

I deleted the app. If he's chosen to have it he should follow it wise what's the point?

I think, tbh, he forgot he even had it.

We both downloaded it initially when it first came out, and had a conversation about how much it drained our battery and that we both wanted to delete it. I did. He mustn't have.
