Day 10 of mild covid - anyone else crash?

Hello,

I’m on day 10 of mild covid. So far I’ve been tired and achey, but not too bad.

Decided to work yesterday, just at my desk at home. By 5pm I felt awful. I crawled into bed shaking violently, I was so cold and couldn’t get warm for over an hour. Couldn’t eat, couldn’t move.

This morning I just feel drained and sore. Taking it very easy in bed today.

Anyone else have this? I escape my isolation room tomorrow and can go hang out with family which will help as I have been stuck on my own for over a week.

Please tell me this improves!!

Yes. I was warned by my dr that day 7-10 could be worse and by day 9 thought I wasn't too bad.

Day 10 I felt rotten and my breathing dipped a bit.

I was told I could escape as long as I wasnt sneezing or high temp - but felt almost at my illest then!

Thanks, yes, deffo feeling weakest I’ve felt. No temp or sneezing so I’m looking forward to getting back to my own bedroom tomorrow! Just hoping that yesterday and today are the hump!

I'm day 8 today and day 6 has been my worst day so far. I had to go back to bed for a few hours. I've felt some improvement on day 7 and again today on day 8 but the improvement is so gradual that I only really notice any improvement when logging my symptoms on the Covid symptom study. I'm still sneezing and runny nose so not hopeful that I'll be able to stop isolating in 2 days. Just hoping I'm not going to get any worse now.

PracticingPerson · 09/02/2021 10:34

Sounds horrid, I hope it passes soon now Flowers

Just to say, and sorry for being a doomster and a gloomster, but if you still have symptoms you're supposed to isolate still I think? Not, I think, if just a leftover cough, but if you are achy/shaking/cold/hot maybe be cautious.

but if you still have symptoms you're supposed to isolate still I think?

Thanks, I’m back to just feeling tired today, no temp.

TBH I wasn’t planning on leaving the house in the next few days, just my spare room.

Well the guidance is here if it is useful: www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/when-to-self-isolate-and-what-to-do/

The test and trace people ring you every few days and tell you which symptoms mean you still need to isolate and which ones don't. They told me that coughing could go on for weeks and don't need you to continue to isolate after 10 days for this. But you definitely do for sneezing and temperature (there were presumably others they would take into account if relevant to you)

TryingNotToPanicOverCovid · 09/02/2021 12:03

Also fatigue - which was one of my symptoms on day 10 and meant I felt awful like I'd been run over - again they said you don't need to isolate for that as that can continue.

TryingNotToPanicOverCovid · 09/02/2021 12:07

If you click through the links to those that are relevant to if you've already tested positive -

When to keep self-isolating
Keep self-isolating if you have any of these symptoms after the 10 days:

a high temperature or feeling hot and shivery
a runny nose or sneezing
feeling or being sick
diarrhoea
Only stop self-isolating when these symptoms have gone.

If you have diarrhoea or you're being sick, stay at home until 48 hours after they've stopped.

Yet you can stop isolating if -

When to stop self-isolating
You can stop self-isolating after the 10 days if either:

you do not have any symptoms
you just have a cough or changes to your sense of smell or taste – these can last for weeks after the infection has gone.

They told me the coughing/fatigue/feeling awful/ my particular asthma symptoms came in the don't need to continue to isolate category.

Thanks all. Test and protect haven’t called since that first time when I tested positive.

I feel lots better today, think I just pushed myself too hard too quickly trying to work a full day. Taking it super easy for the next few days!

Will see how I get on, might still distance an extra day from family to be sure.

Oh that's bizarre. I might have had higher calls as I was higher risk maybe?

Glad you're feeling better and yes lots of rest!! I found I got weary a lot quicker for a while.
