In the flesh, I mean. Someone whose name you learnt and you continued to have a connection?

I have a strange feeling mine was a year ago, early Feb. I drove to Wales to meet a new client.

My Pilates studio was open in summer but I don’t think I met anyone new.

That’s a long time!

Daily. I go into people's homes daily - probably an average of 6 new people a week. Some will be a one off, but most I will then have a lot of communication and a number of visits with them over a number of days or weeks.

I started a new job in the autumn and net a couple of new colleagues and we had a few weeks in the office before we went to home working in lockdown 2.

I have a border collie who wants to meet everybody and they want to meet him, so tradesmen, builders, gardeners etc all stop to say hello to him. Also at our dog park, we get different people there each week.

Good question! Definitely 2019. I've been WFH since lockdown and I can't think of anyone new I met and actually had a connection with before then.

Actually, I have thought of someone! I bought a toy off Facebook marketplace in the summer and we ended up having a long chat on her doorstep. I've seen her around the neighborhood since and waved. But that's it.

Last week
I work in a nursery, it’s pretty much business as usual for us

September, a new work colleague. She's nice and gets on well within our working bubble now just three.

September - I started an evening class which was v. practical so allowed to take place in real life, rather than digitally - its obviously stopped now, but we managed an entire term of activity. Lots of measures to keep it safe, including all wearing masks, so I'm not 100% sure I'd recognise all of them in real life.

Two new members of staff in work started in Jan, I’ve met them both in person once, but they are now WFH.

trevthecat · 08/02/2021 08:05

I started uni in September so met half of the class then. Only been face to face 4 times. We are online the rest of the time.

I met some of my new team - who I'd already met on Teams - face to face for a day last August.

BikeRunSki · 08/02/2021 08:12

End of October last year. Went on a dating site and got chatting to someone and turns out he lives around the corner from me. We met the next day for a walk, both single adult households so it was allowed. We've been together ever since.

ChocOrange1 · 08/02/2021 12:24

In October I joined the committee at our preschool so I've since met and got to know all the other committee members plus some of the parents

A roofer came to quote for a repair last week... I hope he will send his quote and fix the roof soon.

My work was entirely remote even pre-covid and I've never met my work colleagues in person. I did meet a new colleague last month but only on a video call. In my world it still counts as it would be the same even if covid hadn't happened.

BogRollBOGOF · 08/02/2021 12:51

Autumn. Met some new Brownies in September when we managed 6 weeks of F2F meetings. Some of them weren't from DS2's class that I wasn't aquainted with.

Met a new running buddy in October and we've managed 3 or 4 runs.

February 2020. I joined a local breast cancer group. Lovely women who meet / met up regularly. I managed half a meetup and had to leave as mum was ill. That was that.
