Places of work during the Coronavirus - what should I do?

Please could I just ask what you would do in this situation please -
Work in an office with two other members of staff, we are two meters apart, wear masks and have windows open.
I’ve seen via social media today that one of the colleagues in my office has stayed at a relatives house last night after a family event. Clearly from photos no masks worn and have travelled home this morning.
My other colleague is unaware but has been extremely careful since the pandemic started, even at Christmas she did not go to another household or let anyone come to hers.
I just feel so uncomfortable about it all for my colleague and myself but don’t know if I’m over reacting and should say nothing.

I completely get why you are annoyed OP
I don't think there is much you can do about said colleague but I would try and take extra precautions in the office. Make sure the windows are quite widely open despite the cold (with the new variant ventilation is key due to smaller airborne particles) be wiping down or hand sanitising after touching things like doors/kettle/taps.

If your colleague complains about it being cold I would simply state that your trying to reduce risks and be honest that they have potentially put you both in that situation

I would tell both your manager and the vulnerable colleague. If you say nothing and the vulnerable colleague gets sick you will feel terrible.

Talk to your manager.

When you said 'work in an office', my first thought was why are you not working from home in any case.

Not all offices can wfh.
Anyway if they h hadn't put all over FB you'd never of known and chances are they've been doing it all along

I originally didn’t put too much detail in for identifying reasons (I know I will be accused of drip feeding) but we’re frontline NHS, our service is suspended at the moment but is starting back up shortly hence we need to be in to prepare. I know this makes it so much worse.

No lie - this doesn’t surprise me

My nhs mates are the worst for rule breaking

I work with a client group with complex problems, including prison leavers. Without wanting to stereotype, all of them break lockdown rules, all of the time. Some are homeless, some have heavy addictions, some are from highly anti-social families. I am expected to engage with them in person (with masks etc) regularly.

You can't eliminate all risks in your life. I think you need to focus on what you can do - handwashing, maintaining 2m distance to keep yourself safe and try not to overthink it.
