There's lots of threads on here about what we miss most, but with recent news on vaccinations, I've started to think about what I'm looking forward to once the situation improves. For me:

Cinema (miss this so much - there's only so much Netflix you can watch.)
Ditto theatre - though it's more of an expensive activity, so don't do it as often.
Browsing clothes shops
Seeing friends
Seeing my best friend, who I've not seen for a year as she's CEV
Popping into a pub for a pint after a walk
Browsing bookshops
Live music/jazz clubs (eventually)
Holiday abroad or even in the UK

Going to the pub

Seeing family and friends
Taking DC on a fun day trip
Going on holiday with DH and DC
Eating out
Shopping without queuing up for ages
Swimming

CornishYarg · 03/02/2021 18:24

DS going back to school
DS's after school activities resuming
DH and I being able to play our sports again. Joe Wicks in the lounge or a solitary run is a poor substitute for the team sports we love.
DH and I being able to work outside the home. Much as we enjoy each other's company, it's pretty claustrophobic to spend all day every day with one another and even more so now that DS is also home all day!
Going inside my parents' house
Seeing my family who live abroad
Meeting friends for a meal or a drink out

lunapeace · 03/02/2021 18:29

Playing netball!

One of my dearest friends have agreed that the next time we meet, it's a bottle of champagne ( or maybe two) and a slap up meal. We normally meet for lunch, but this one will be special. Bin 70 and cev, she's 65. I've had my first vaccination, so, fingers crossed, we will both make it and it will be sokn😁😁😁

Everything

But mostly dc having their full lives back

Puppylucky · 03/02/2021 20:25

Seeing London regain it's bustling energetic glory. We moved back after living abroad for a while in 2019 and I was surprised how much I loved being part of its big city vibe again - and then it all stopped. I even miss the tube!

LondonLovie · 03/02/2021 22:51

Choir, and sing with, and for others
Spontaneous moments - quick drink after work, popping into House of Fraser and buying a new top I don’t need(!)
Planning parities for my kids
Having people round
I even miss the school run and the commute some days! When it’s a very bad day...

WhiteChocTwix · 03/02/2021 23:12

Taking my Dad out from his care home for a drink and chat in the local pub garden.
Taking Mumsy out for the day, shopping and lunch.
Going to the cinema/dinner/gym/ getting on a plane with DH.
Hugging the family.
A long lunch in London with friends.
Trying my latest Next order on in the changing room straight after picking it up so I can make swift keep or return decisions!

@Neron

To work, so I can pay my mortgage and bills, and feed myself. It's currently illegal for me to work.
Intrigued as to what you do that’s illegal. I’m having visions of something very shady...

Do you mean you can’t do your usual job or you have been banned from working in any capacity (even a different job)?

Cowmilk · 04/02/2021 06:21

I forgot, being able to relax about dc not following social distancing rules. I want to give my four year old (who has been on the waiting list for autism assessment for more than a year) the freedom to play with other kids and interact with other adults without me hovering around him making sure he don’t try and touch/ hug them. I have kept him home most of the year. Or took dc out when less people are out, think early in the morning or when it’s raining (dc love splashing in puddles in the rain). Homeschooling has made this harder as the two eldest need to login on teams by 9am Monday to Friday.

I’m personally an introvert so I don’t have a need to see others. Talking on the phone is enough. But not for my dc who need others. I’m looking forward to when school open and hopefully that would happen when things are safer for everyone.

Visiting my mum, sisters and nephew in Scotland

Going to my parents in law on a weekend for family dinner (and them looking after the kids while we go shopping)

Getting to go to home ed groups again

Ditto for museums, art galleries, theatre, outdoor places that we have to take public transport for - things that were a huge part of the way we home educated pre-covid
