Oxford Vaccine cutting transmissions

There's some good news with the Oxford vaccine. Early data shows it cuts out transmission of the virus.

Should vaccination programmes be changed now? To aim the vaccine at younger people who move about more and are more likely to catch the virus and transmit to those more vulnerable who may not be out and about in communities as often.

It's great news! To be honest the vaccination program is going so quickly that it probably doesn't make sense now to change it. And lots of the younger more vulnerable people who would be out and about are starting to get vaccinated now.

It is very good news. However, I don’t see why the priority should change - the key aim should be to reduce hospitalisations and therefore pressure on the health service. The best way to do that is to vaccinate the groups who are most likely to be hospitalised.

My DH isn't in a priority group and is early 30's. The vaccine calculator is showing at the current rate he will be vaccinated in May. That is excellent and doesn't need to be changed.
