Someone I know has a cold. Let's call them perks. A. At the same time person B gets a cold and then tests positive for covid. Person A lives with person C. Person C also comes down with symptoms and tests positive for covid. Person A also tested for covid, but is not positive. Person A and B were ' infected ' at the same time. Person C only sees person A about 1 week to 10 days after symptoms started for person A. Person A tests 3 times during symptoms and is negative. Weird or what !

We had something similar. Dh was a contact of someone at work who tested positive. He then developed symptoms and tested the same day he was told this. I was asymptomatic but tested too. Dh tested negative but me positive. Pretty sure his was a false negative.

My brain is too tired for the letters but after all this time not one thing is a surprise when it comes to covid transmission Grin

My brother had it (with symptoms). Lives with his girlfriend and a flatmate and neither of them caught it (they weren't asymptomatic, had negative tests).

His girlfriend had symptoms too BTW so we all thought she definitely had it but no - two negative tests.

@Ch3rish haha I know it's really hard to follow GrinI don't think I could follow it. I'm going to give them names to make it easier. John and Paul caught a cold at the same time whilst they were away. John and Paul got tested and only Paul was positive. John later met with Ringo and around 5 days after, Ringo displayed symptoms and also tested positive.

@Pathetic32 it's just odd to have symptoms too at the same time!

The swabs are only 60-70% accurate so it could be a false negative result. If they’re concerned that they may have it regardless of the results then they should follow advice to isolate anyway. I hope they’re all feeling better soon.

Everyone is fine now and it's over. But I'm just puzzled about it. That's all

I agree with @Humpty11, the tests are nowhere near 100% accurate, and even if they were, it could just be that they swabbed a patch that contained no virus, ie a true 'negative' in terms of the test. I'd say all three of you had COVID.

Good to hear that it doesn't seem to have been overly severe.
