I guess it was inevitable but let's hope it doesn't take off like the other variant.

too late to do anything now that will have any effect.

3 weeks away from even the limited quarantine promised, 21k people come into the UK every day R4 reported this morning.

Why another 3 weeks before they start hotel quarantine , that’s ridiculous?

And if Australia can quarantine all arrivals, why can’t we?

[quote Circumlocutious]This tweet has cheered me up 😔

^And now for the bad news. sigh
It looks like #B117, the more transmissible variant first detected in England, has now picked up the E484K mutation as well. That is the one linked to evading SOME immunity in SAfrica and Brazil.^

Even then, it applies to just 34 countries, if only Covid knew it has travel restrictions?

Labour called for a universal travel quarantine 4th January, Mr Johnson overruled SAGE advice 2 weeks ago.

21,000 people come into the UK each and every day with little in the way of restriction.

Covid is bloody clever, given that it's apparently only in PR9, when you only have to cross the road to get to PR8. Maybe it's scared of crossing the road?!
