What is in your Covid list?

My friend, her DH (both overweight) and toddler DS all have tested positive. Friend has M.E but otherwise they are ok. Both are 30, toddler is nearly 3. Their chances of survival are ok?

She has wipes, antibac spray and Tesco delivery sorted. Is there anything I can get them to leave on their doorstep?

What's on your Covid List? If you've had it, what did you find helpful?

I've heard people talking about getting a pulse oximeter?

Yes - that’s a great idea. And paracetamol, ibuprofen, calpol - my friend ran out so quickly when her whole family had COVID. Perhaps some soups? And an offer of shopping. Some daffs maybe?

AtlasPine · 30/01/2021 11:46

They are young enough for it to be very unusual for covid to lead to hospitalisation, even if they are overweight.

Paracetamol
Bubble bath
Tissues
Smoothies
A ready cooked lasagne or something that they can heat up

BananaPop2020 · 30/01/2021 11:49

Lucozade and bananas - easy to eat.

HairyFloppins · 30/01/2021 11:49

Paracetamols we got through so many. Flannels. I had a one on my head for a few days.

My mum dropped round easy food like cheese, part baked rolls. Snacks for the kids.

Also she brought grapes and tangerines which we all ate.

Not had Covid but I do have an oximeter. I think they are useful ( although others disagree).
I also make sure we have calpol and liquid ibuprofen for the dc, paracetamol and ibuprofen tabs for us adults.
A fan possibly?

Food that's really easy to prep and eat. When I had it luckily my DH was fine and looked after us all, I couldn't have cooked a meal.
Anything to keep the toddler busy for a while so they can rest.

Neversleepingever · 30/01/2021 12:44

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm making a list. Also thanks for the reassurance that they should be fine!

I took cold and flu tablets when I had it. And cough mixture

The pulse oximeter is the thing that can save a life. It can also provide reassurance which might be more useful in your friend's case as hopefully her life won't be in any danger.

And yes food that's easy to prep and eat. I know several people with ME who had COVID. They all survived but it did aggravate their ME and they took a while to get their (albeit compromised) energy levels back.
