New mum here, got a 2 month old. struggling with my mental health. My dm is my Support bubble, but she and the rest of the household had covid. Dms first symptons was on the 7th of Jan. Then followed by my sibling and my df who caught it last. Df and dsis have a lingering cough that wont go but other than that they are pretty much symptom free. They got hit with it really bad. I really need to see her but I'm worried about going home too soon. Call me ott but I worry that its all over the house since I know df has been walking around coughing on everything. Would it be safe yet and if not when?

When did your DF first get symptoms? That’s the important date to focus on.

Elle458 · 28/01/2021 17:09

@BlueTimes 13th was when he started feeling unwell 17th was when he got his positive test

People will have a cough or other symptoms which longer. As long as the fever, and any sneezing/runny nose (I think) is gone they are allowed to come out of isolation after 10 days. If your DF became symptomatic on the 13th that should be fine.

Then yes, it’s safe to visit. I hope they fully recover soon.

10 days after a positive test and/or symptoms will be safe. If you want to be extra sure you could ask your DM to open the windows to get extra ventilation in and also ask her to go over surfaces with an anti bacterial spray.

Big hugs to you, I have a 6week old and also struggling a bit with MH so I get how you’re feeling.

And yes as pp have said as long as the fever has gone

@Nellie850 hand hold to you it's hard enough being a mum to a newborn let alone being in a lockdown. Hope you can also get some support
