Quite possibly the most pathetic thing I've ever heard: EU/vaccines

Well I've gone from being a hardcore Remainer to a softcore Remainer to now actually starting to question it all

Especially as the EU hasn't even approved the AZ vaccine yet...

Kokeshi123 · 28/01/2021 11:37

As someone once said: The biggest mistake Brexiteers make is to assume that the EU is weak. The biggest mistake Remainers make is to assume it is kind.

redsquirrelfan · 28/01/2021 11:38

I am a hard core remainer too but Stella Kyriakides is making herself look a very big fool at the moment.

AuntyClementine · 28/01/2021 11:38

Agreed. Truly pathetic. I’m still a remainer but starting to be slightly less bothered about being out.

I don't understand this quote:

"Germany’s health minister, Jens Spahn, said he feared “at least another 10 tough weeks” of shortages. “Making vaccines is very complex, and there can be a need for building work to increase capacity that leads to delays,” Spahn said on NDR radio. “But then it has to impact everyone in the same way and not just the EU.”."

That last line: why does it?

I voted to remain, but it was a borderline decision at the last minute.

My husband voted to leave. His only reason for wanting to leave was the massive bureaucracy within the EU and how bloated it was as an organisation. I could see his point, but thought we were better together.

Despite recent events he's not been a smug bastard about it, but I think he would be justified if he was. Overall it still might be the wrong decision to leave, but right now it's a good thing. I'm sure many people will look at the EU with different eyes after this week's news.

Translation "we fucked up and now we are worried about the future of the EU, so let's paper over the cracks and pretend that it wasn't us, it was them".

Or

"Oh fuck, we've messed up big time. Help!!!!!"

“But then it has to impact everyone in the same way and not just the EU.”."

But he's not lobbying for vaccines to go to Africa, South America, etc, is he?
