Nursery to admit older siblings

Very casual message from preschooler DC's nursery today to say they will be admitting older siblings.

No information on age limits or number of places or which room the older children will be in or any transmission mitigation measures.

This seems at odds with the purpose of school closures / public health policy?

I am also clinically vulnerable and was already concerned with nursery's relaxed approach to COVID, things are running entirely as normal with essentially no mitigation measures in place.

I recognise I am looking at this from the perspective of not having an older child.

If you have a child in nursery how would you view this?

@Same4Walls Because they don't already have provision for older children it's very unlikely they are going to have adequatet space and facilities to accommodate older children. my child’s nursery is a terrace house with two rooms 0-2 and 2-11 it’s really not big at all.

Also my children’s nursery is rating outstanding and is not cheap.

Sorry for late update. Nursery has said they have been told - I don't know who by - their plan to take in non key worker primary aged children is illegal. So plan has been withdrawn.

Thanks for everyone's comments it was useful and interesting to see many parents ok with the idea

It is correct that nurseries can only provide care for critical workers and vulnerable children who are school age so a nursery could provide half term care for school age children in these categories only.

Brilliant idea! Really love the creativity and flexibility - much better for the DC than being at home all day with stressed working parents.
