At this rate we will have vaccinated everyone in levels 1 to 4 by Feb 8! This means that deaths will come down rapidly in Feb which is wonderful news. By March 1 they should be back to the normal level pre covid I think.

Some wonderful news in all this darkness!

That would be fantastic, let's hope it happens.
rookiemere · 24/01/2021 16:27

It's incredibly positive the speed it's happening at.We're in Scotland so not so speedy, but hoping it gets a bit snappier once the care homes are completed.

sashagabadon · 24/01/2021 16:27

Really quite amazing!

Haenow · 24/01/2021 16:53

It’s amazing and makes me feel very proud of us.

Thimbleberries · 24/01/2021 17:06

It's pretty amazing. I think there are a few hubs that haven't opened yet as well, which will also speed things up, if the supplies are there.

By the end of March, though, they will need to be getting second doses done too - if not earlier (I hope!), so all this capacity will be well and truly needed.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 24/01/2021 17:12

Absolutely incredible effort, makes me quite teary to think of all those people pulling together.

Does anyone else think they are going to embarrass themselves by blarting when they go for their jab Wink

Thimbleberries · 25/01/2021 17:51

Why is it down to 220,000 today?! Supply issues?

Mousehole10 · 25/01/2021 17:55

It was a Sunday, they haven’t got 24/7 vaccinations up and running yet. We’d and NI also don’t report their figures at the weekend, and some vaccination centres were closed because of the snow.

Mousehole10 · 25/01/2021 17:56

Wales*

Thimbleberries · 25/01/2021 17:57

Oh I thought it was today's data that they were giving. Sunday makes sense.

Forgetmenot157 · 25/01/2021 17:59

Numbers were low for last Sunday too.. Guessing there is something in that.

Ah no, the numbers reported each day are for the previous day.
kitschplease · 25/01/2021 18:02

This is amazing - are they a week ahead of schedule?

ElectraBlue · 25/01/2021 18:13

Fantastic.

And largely due to the fact that the NHS/healthcare professionals are leading on this rather than useless ministers and their chums (like the Dido disaster...).

user86386427 · 25/01/2021 19:53

I really thought they (government) were going to fuck this up, very happy to eat my words on this occasion if it keeps up like this! Or even just to schedule would surpass my expectations!

justanotherneighinparadise · 25/01/2021 20:04

Everything crossed. These kids need to go back to school before I crumble.

Treaclepie19 · 25/01/2021 20:14

So pleased!

ihearttc · 25/01/2021 21:06

That’s incredible.

year5teacher · 25/01/2021 21:08

Brilliant news! My mum should be having hers as early as a few weeks, and my dad around the end of February. The difference that will make to our morale is just unbelievable. I can’t wait.

I am so, so incredibly anti Tory but i cannot let myself think that they will mess this up somehow - I have to believe that it’ll work and be ok.

heidihigh · 25/01/2021 21:09

This government has not done many (if any) things right during this pandemic but, touch wood, fortunately this seems to be something they have got right. At last.

Thimbleberries · 26/01/2021 16:48

Another low day, and this time from a Monday. I think it must represent some sort of irregular supply issues. But at least the capacity is there for much greater numbers, as we know from previous days, so hopefully it'll pick up again soon.

I don't know if it was countrywide but my parents had quite bad snow yesterday, if it had been thei appointment day they wouldnt have felt comfortable going out in such bad weather so I'd guess there would be weather to take into account.
