Possibly stupid...
1)do you get tested beforehand? And if positive, do they delay it as meant to isolate, or do it anyway?

  1. does it shed? (I think not as it is not a live vaccine)

  2. do people have to isolate afterward for a certain time after (I mean over and above current lockdown)

4)if had already, why do they need the vaccine as the cells would already be aware of the virus and ability to fight it?

I ask as I work in retail and SO MANY people pop in after their Jab and go "oh I have just had my vaccination over the road" and myself and colleagues were wondering! (If they are positive for example but get called up anyway then pop in as they are already out...)

No you do not get tested,no it does not shed,no to isolation and lastly, I know some NHS colleagues who are chosing to delay vaccination as have recently had Covid so you are correect in thinking there is limited advantage for a few months but I think the course of 2 vaccinations is supposed to give you a longer protection than actual covid infection. Not sure how though..

You can't come out of isolation to have the vaccine either and if you've had it within twenty eight days you have to delay your vaccine.

  1. No. But there were signs up in the vaccine centre I went to to say you couldn't have it within (I think) 4 weeks of a positive test or if you had significant symptoms currently.
  2. No. Not a live vaccine - it can't.
  3. No. No need because it doesn't shed.
  4. Two reasons: firstly, we don't know yet to what extent having covid gives immunity. Secondly, the practicalities of seperating out those who have had it/might have had it from those who have not. THe rollout is fairly crude because trying to select subgroups to have the vaccine will make things more complex and so slow down the rollout.

Getting covid does not give full immunity, i believe ive had it twice. But only tested 2nd time, first was mild illness 2nd was horrendous.

It doesn’t shed, is 90% effective 10-14 days after vaccine (average), and the rules about masks, lockdown etc still apply to everyone, vaccinated or not. You’re not tested beforehand, but shouldn’t be going out to get it if symptomatic or positive, and can’t have it if had Covid in previous 4 weeks.

If people are going to the shop afterwards they still need to wear mask, sanitize, distance etc.
