If someone has had the virus and recovered, can they still carry it?

Probably not worded the title very well to be honest! Person who works in a healthcare setting, so could be coming into contact with the virus quite a bit, was ill just over a month ago but has now recovered and had a negative test through work since. They’ll probably have some immunity, but, if they come back in contact with a positive case, can they then still carry the virus and pass it on to other people? Presuming clothes are changed and hands washed etc in between seeing people. Any ideas?

You are only contagious for the first 10-14 days of having the virus. As it's rare to catch it twice they wouldn't be contagious.

Ok, so they couldn’t pass it on if say they were in contact with someone positive in the morning and then saw someone else in the afternoon? It’s a friend who’s concerned about carers and her elderly mum.

I don’t agree with this. I think they still pass it on even if they don’t get ill a 2nd time. Their body just deals with it faster the 2nd time - it’s why vaccinated people still need to social distance etc as they’re still a vector

There's no evidence to show that people who have some immunity cannot transmit it. They need to show the same caution as everyone else.
