Vaccine and Breastfeeding older baby

I’ve been offered the Pfizer Vaccine through work (NHS) staff. I really want to take it. However I’m still breastfeeding my 2 year old (although only once or maybe twice a day at the most). I’m wondering whether I need to use this as the push to wean her or whether she would benefit from any antibodies I generate.
Obviously I’ve asked work and google etc for guidance, but it’s all very non committed. And I’m not sure why my gut instinct is?

I would just have the vaccine and keep breastfeeding. Any antibodies you make will only be the same as what you’d make if you had covid so if you weren’t planning to stop bf if infected with covid then no reason to stop for vaccine. Your child is two so weaned so I wouldn’t be concerned either about any of the components in the vaccine getting into breast milk as many of the ingredients are found in foods. I think breastfeeding network have said the chance if the vaccine getting into milk is tiny anyway.

I've had the Pfizer and I'm breastfeeding a 3 year old Smile

Thanks both. I’m so befuddled with everything at the moment I’m struggling to make basic decisions let alone stuff like this 😔

I had the Pfizer and am bfing 18 month old way more than twice a day. Initially I also did a fair bit of reading but feeling okay with it after doing so. They will always be non committal with official channels wrt to bfing but it’s been approved and seems safer than many other things.
