Ours is 40% and that's with one year group isolating. HT is asking parents to review their child's need for a place. I feel worried for the teaching staff who only have face shields. They look so vulnerable on the teams meetings and has really brought home to me how little teaching staff are valued by some. Classes are being run by a TA and the teacher is in another room doing the online lesson. School have clearly said that there is no guarantee of a teacher or a TA being in the classroom all the time and were very polite but firm in asking that children only be sent in if absolutely necessary.
Are schools' hands tied because of the government? Do the rules need to be stricter and/or clearer? What's the answer?

School attendance data for last week
14% of the pupil population were attending school on the 14 January.,
53% of primary schools had more than 20% of their pupils attending.
2% had more than 50% attending.
Special schools on average had 29% of pupils attending.

Hard for me to tell - DS is at a special school and able to do a few shortened days a week, so I'm not seeing his full class compliment when I drop him off anyway, as some would be going in on different days. I think a fair proportion aren't in because they're ECV and I really feel for them and their parents. DS being able to go in for even a few days a week is a live-saver for him and for us, as his learning difficulties and autism mean he's not able to cope for very long without his school routine. He went completely frantic last year. All staff wear face-coverings, thank god.

His small SS is co-located with a MS primary and it seems pretty busy.... my other child's at secondary and I believe only a tiny handful are in.

I think 35%. So many more keyworkers now.
