I’m just recovering from covid and aside from the lingering cough, I have zero sense of smell and very slight taste (can detect slight salt/ sweet tastes). Can anyone tell me they’ve had the same and their sense of taste/ smell came back? If so, how long did it take? Ta!

I had what I believe to be covid in the first week of April. No tests then unless you were at deaths door, but I had all the symptoms including loss of smell - not so much taste. Smell came back in a. Few weeks but wasn’t right, and the distorted smells affected how things taste. Don’t want to depress you, but I still can’t eat some things I used to use all the time (peppers, spring onions etc) because they taste revolting to me. Coffee isn’t right but has improved in the last few weeks. Red wine was dodgy until about a month ago.
I’m getting fed up now.

@Skinnyjeansandaloosetop how are you doing, is your sense of smell any different now?

Skinnyjeansandaloosetop · 30/01/2021 20:21

It actually is returning a bit - I thought I was imagining smells but it was real. I’m confident it will return now. I think I was starting to panic! I hope others do too. Thanks!
