If you had chest issues as an early sign, what did it feel like?

I've been feeling really run down and coldy this last few days but didn't really think anything of it. Today however, I've developed a painful chest. It feels almost bruised and is most noticeable when I breathe in or when I pick DS up.
I don't feel particularly breathless and I don't have a cough, but DH is worried it could be the start of it.
I haven't read about anybody experiencing something similar with Covid and thought it's more likely that lump of a DS and my terrible lifting technique is more likely behind it but thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has had similar?

I had gastro symptoms for at least a week then felt as though I had a tight belt round my chest combined with a heavy feeling in my chest . This progressed to feeling as though all my ribs had been broken with a baseball bat ...

Just a really odd feeling at first then a week after I tested positive it felt like someone was ticking the inside of my chest when I took a deep breath. Really weird.

Toddlerteaplease · 12/01/2021 21:34

My first symptom was a headache. Didn't loose taste or smell.

I had covid in April. Felt like a too tight bra under my breasts and that feeling you get when you take a deep breath in a cold frosty day. No cough though.

Good luck OP I hope you are safe!
I've got it at the moment, on day 5 now.
On the Sunday I had a sore throat did an immediate response home test (partner is in NHS so he has a supply) and that was negative, developed into a cough on Tuesday and by Wednesday I noticed taste/smell had gone, and my chest kept getting tight and I felt as though I couldn't breathe (opening a window and breathing in the -2 degrees air helped this a lot!) on the Thursday morning I had a test and on Friday I found out it was positive. However I am fully aware I am one of the lucky ones as I am feeling significantly better other than the cough now.
I hope it comes back negative for you OP! Thanks

My chest was like this, it hurt greatly, constant heaviness and pain when breathing. Then the burning started in my lungs and back. Along with headaches, body fizzing, diarrhoea and the worst fatigue ever. All these months later and I've still got the chest pain and burning and body fizzing. Covid doesn't want to leave me.

@Tootsey11 I’m so sorry that sounds so so rough. I hope you start feeling a lot better

Thank you everyone. I’m actually wondering if I’ve injured myself lifting DS as it’s started to feel like a muscular ache/pain that’s also in my back rather than just my chest but I’ll get a test to be on the safe side

Fingers crossed
There’s such a broad range of symptoms and seriousness it’s such a scary time

Back pain and muscle aches can be a symptom too. My husband had awful pain between his shoulder blades and in his back and was sleeping on the floor!

I had a awful headache, then tickle in back of throat which turned into a cough.
Then i started to feel breathless/heavy chested and had a few days that I felt I couldn’t take a deep breath as it hurt/brined too much when it got to a certain point. I’m asthmatic so started taking my steroid inhaler more which saw me through.
Also stuff smelled tank and tasted weird.

If you get a negative test it could possibly be costocondritis (sp) inflammation of the chest wall from lifting your son.

Hope you get better soon op
