When is the turning point?

DParents tested positive on New Year’s Day. Mum is 75 and dad 79. Both have pre existing conditions - COPD, diabetes, CHD, asthma, hypertension.

They’ve had the usual associated body aches, fevers, chesty coughs but oxygen levels have safely been in the 90s. They’re massively fatigued.
I’m abroad so can’t get to them, as it’s coming up to day 13 now, I’m hoping that they’re over the worst of it.

I’m making myself sick with worry that any day they’ll take a turn for the worse.
Can anyone provide me with any reassuring experiences with their elderly?

Many thanks

They say days 5 to 7 are critical, so they’ve past this with good oxygen levels. Isolation is 10 days since symptoms began, so it’s looking good for them. It is worrying though, let’s just hope they continue improving and the fatigue gets better. It’s not unusual for this to take longer. If their coughs continue, it might be worthwhile ringing the doctors just to check their symptoms with them.

That’s very reassuring, thanks. Will keep a remote eye on their coughs
