April wedding

A family member is getting married in mid April, or at least they’re hoping to. We got the invite through yesterday and they seem pretty optimistic that it’ll go ahead.
It’ll mean us staying overnight somewhere like a premier inn as the wedding is in Birmingham and we are in Lancashire. I don’t know whether we should book somewhere now? Because obviously we want to be prepared and have somewhere ready to stay if it does go ahead. I think premier inn allow you to change dates if you need to and I think they have a refund option?
They’re hoping for a wedding of 50 guests. Seems the venue has said they’re optimistic it’ll go ahead.

As long as you use the flexible option, where you can cancel up to 1p.m. on the day of arrival, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to book the hotel.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

I'm not the doom and gloom type but that wedding seems very unlikely to go ahead with 50 guests...

50 in April is a possibility but let's face it unlikely. We are getting married in June and have 18 guests. Our venue seem optimistic but point out it might have to be 15 so 50 before then really seems to be pushing it.

Honestly? Not a cat in hell's chance it'll happen with 50 imo. That aside, best bet is to book a fully flexible room even though it will cost more.
