Lower sore back

MerinoFroggie · 10/01/2021 18:19

I am experiencing a lower sore back today. Definitely similar feeling/body aches to 24 bug feeling. The back feels weak.

I don't have a temperature/fever. It was 37 earlier on at 4pm.

I dont have anyone in my circle positive with the virus.

I dont use public transport and I am keeping my contacts and mixing low.

There's no one in my circle a positive. A child at work was a close contact Christmas week. She developed no sickness or symptoms.

How likely this this to be covid?
I am wondering if the child who was an asymptomatic close contact had the virus with no symptoms and perhaps I could have been exposed in my work.

I can smell and taste.

A sore lower back is more likely to be postural than covid.

Dotinthecity · 10/01/2021 18:23

It sounds like you just have a sore back to be really honest. Try a few gentle stretches and see how it is in the morning.

Jammygal · 10/01/2021 18:36

Lower back pain was one of my first symptoms but this was alongside feeling cold and shivery. Just keep an eye out for other subtle signs .

Orf1abc · 10/01/2021 18:41

Do you have health anxiety OP? You do seem to have had various unusual symptoms.

I don't think I have health anxiety. I am hyper aware of covid and I suppose any niggling issue just jumps out at me now.

I am feeling cold today but I don't know if that's because it's a cold day.

Just after checking my temperature and I found a slight fever.

37.5 to 37.9 I checked a few times. Its now 37.6

I also had a sore back and sore skin as my first symptoms and tested positive

Heartofstrings · 10/01/2021 18:57

Porcupineintherough · 10/01/2021 19:31

I've heard of a few people who started with sore lower back and thighs. Can you stay at home for a day or two and see how things go?

Porcupineintherough · 10/01/2021 19:31

Ok sorry, just seen your last. You have a fever so need to test.

Jammygal · 10/01/2021 19:37

Yep I’d second this - get tested ASAP xx

Confused. OP said

Are you stressed OP? I have had low back pain during lockdown, think it is stress and sitting too much.

Orangeblossom77777 · 10/01/2021 19:41

Oh sorry later a slight fever. I see, yes maybe get tested if worried.

30not13 · 10/01/2021 19:46

37.8 or above triggers the need for a test op

MerinoFroggie · 10/01/2021 21:35

Just a quick update.

My back is still the same. The temperature came down without medication. Its now 37.2

Its ovulation time for me and sometimes that can be just as pad as the period.

I don't know if I should associate the back pains with ovulation or a viral infection. Haven't a clue what to do tomorrow morning. I will see how I am overnight and see what the temperature is like tomorrow morning.

Did you get tested

MerinoFroggie · 13/01/2021 14:48

No I didn't get tested. I presume it was ovulation and a sore back and nothing else. I don't have any other symptoms. My temperature was at 36.9 this morning and then it usually rises throughout the day. That is the usual pattern with usually a 37.4 or a 37.5 in the evenings.

I don't feel feverish. I am in Ireland and I can't book a test or show up at a centre. It has to be done through my GP. Phoning my doctor would be a waste of time because I don't have any of the typical symptoms of covid.

I kept my circle low - family, partner, work. My work probably brings the biggest risk for covid exposure and the amount of contacts I have. I should be in a good position working in a private capacity in a home as a nanny but the parents have far to many peo8coming and going every day and service workers like home helps. I came into work on Monday to find the parents working from home and 4 more other workers in the home. Place is being run like a factory. Saying that, there is nobody showing symptoms and nobody a positive in the home. Still scary as fcuk considering the public health messages of reducing contacts.
