Getting a takeaway Costa Coffee at the hospital?

At my last midwife appointment, my midwife told me to treat myself to a Costa on my way home from the cafe downstairs. I’ve read on Mumsnet today that buying a takeaway coffee is bad and I’m murdering grannies by getting a coffee (or possibly a hot chocolate).

Who is right - my midwife or Mumsnet? I had a Black Forest hot chocolate and it was delicious, highly recommended.

It is possible this post is not entirely serious.

Costa do sell decaf coffee and hot chocolate. Plus some caffeine is allowed in pregnancy.

And actually I agree with the pp, it's good that the Costa is open for the staff. Are people really going into a hospital just to use the Costa?!

Someone was fined by the police for travelling 5miles to get a coffee. You are in the same place so obviously you know you can get one.

Lolz I’m 33 weeks pregnant now - and going out for a walk to pret for a hot chocolate everyday is sometimes the only outing a get - otherwise I’d just sit at my desk in my living room all day working! Important to get out for a walk and the hot chocolate makes me happy feels like a real treat 😂

Takeaway coffees are the new axis of evil on here. It’s basically the reason we’re in lockdown.
