I would say
A time where I went to the shop with my mask in my pocket but forgot to put it on.

OP posts:

Going to work

purplebagladylovesgin · 09/01/2021 22:57

I lay on the bed with my hair draped over the side and convinced my DH to cut a straight line across. I thought I'd end up with a layered affect Shock

It's growing back slowly. Luckily I don't see anyone.

MajesticWhine · 09/01/2021 22:57

@NeFretForth - that sounds very bleak. Why is your DD is screwed for life?

whittystitties · 09/01/2021 22:57

Coming in mumsnet and seeing all the loony tunes people desperate to lock us away forever

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 09/01/2021 22:57

@Punkylaroux

Decided I was qualified to cut DP hair...forgot to put the guard on the razor and left a lovely bald patch right up the back of his hair...
Thats what my son did to me 😀

Rescheduled my wedding. I should have gotten married in September 2020, even with guests limit etc. Now I have to wait until September 2021. I regret it. Not worth it. All I wanted was to marry my partner of 11 years, I don't need to invite my cousins that I don't even like.

Scarby9 · 09/01/2021 22:59

Driving 20 miles with my parents in the car, them in the back seats, all masked up and all windows open.
It was only when I dropped them at the door of our destination and took my mask off as I set off to find a parking place that I realised I had driven all the way through heavy traffic without my glasses on. My eyesight is really not good enough for driving, and hasn't been for 25 years. I had been so focused on protecting us from Covid that I probably put us at much greater risk of a car accident.

Ha ha ha :D Yeah, some opinions are ridiculous, I must agree. Not everyone is so privileged to stay home and social distance forever.

Buying things from Zara the day before lockdown was announced! Stuck with things that don’t fit ffs

Veryverycalmnow · 09/01/2021 23:01

Changing jobs! At a time when you're only really allowed to mix with colleagues you need some of them to be friends. I found a bunch of strangers a bit too much when I I haven't seen family for over a year..

Gingerkittykat · 09/01/2021 23:10

I had a major mental health meltdown (I am autistic) and stormed out of the house and ended up in a friend's house for several hours. She is a covid conspiracy theorist and both of her daughters (from separate households) were there. The 16 year old travels on public transport to see her numerous friends and boyfriends. Luckily I never caught anything but could kick myself for being so stupid.

Phoning for a pizza tonight, the delivery guy wasn't wearing a mask and leaned in really close to me to have a chat. I'm in an area of Scotland with reasonably low cases but still worrying.

takeasadsongandmakeitbetter · 09/01/2021 23:12

Not ending my relationship as it was too difficult in lockdown 1, seriously regretting it now

Catty1720 · 09/01/2021 23:48

This post is quite sad a lot of regrets and worries from people. So is there anything your grateful for in this dark time?? (Obviously it’s an awful time I’m not making light of that the posts from the nurses are horrid to read) but is there anything positive that lockdown has taught you?

Propsneeded · 09/01/2021 23:53

Biggest mistake is expecting others to follow the guidelines and think of the bigger picture Hmm

Crumpetycrump · 09/01/2021 23:54

When my summer holiday in Majorca was cancelled I didn’t book anything else. By the time I felt confident to book everything in th uk was totally booked solid. This year I’ve booked a few weekend breaks in the uk - hood they happen!

Propsneeded · 09/01/2021 23:55

@lemonsquashie

Would have been a good time to have a baby last year. Work was quiet, no travel or commuting. Easy to attend appointments. Now I've been made redundant and missed the boat
Next year though? Good luck

Maybe start a new thread, it's not really fair to try to hijack one someone else has started.
minipie · 10/01/2021 00:11

Getting too worked up by home schooling in lockdown 1 and being a very shouty parent. Will try to remember that this time round.

AnyFucker · 10/01/2021 00:13

Yeah, the thought is nice but can we not just be allowed to regret things without being forced to look on the bright side ?

I wish I had looked after myself better when I was redeployed to covid ICU for 12 weeks in the first wave

My physical and mental health is paying for it now. I am not sure I will ever recover fully.

frustrationcentral · 10/01/2021 00:17

I went into a shop without putting my mask on. It was bizarre, I'd been shopping for a while - in and out of high street shops - and had been putting on my mask each shop, but this time I just totally forgot. Was walking around the shop smiling at people and then realised! ShockGrin

The other time I forgot the one other person in the house rule and let in one of DS's mates when there was already one round BlushGrin

I am normally a good girl, promise!

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 10/01/2021 00:27

Like others, I wish I'd seen my mum during the slightly more relaxed phase in the summer. I'm actually finding this thread comforting though because if we'd ALL done it, then there would have been consequences so maybe we should all just give ourselves a pat on the back for doing the right things?

I have forgotten my mask a couple of times.

But the thing I really regret is a long story involving staying over at a friend's when it was safe to do so, getting a bit of work in unexpectedly for the next morning (I'm freelance), so then having to get up at the crack of arse and sit on a bus with a mask and a Prosecco hangover. Lovely.

Catty1720 · 10/01/2021 00:29

I wasn’t hijacking at all. And not trying to force people to look on the bright side. Sorry I’ve clearly offended.

AnyFucker · 10/01/2021 00:31

You haven't offended anybody, just let us wallow Smile

Anotherdayanother2 · 10/01/2021 01:06

CloseSchoolsProtecttheNHS are still open. I have been to both this week. One in one out and everything wiped down and cleaned before you enter. Special viral mouth wash and temp taken.

recycledtoiletroll · 10/01/2021 01:12

That I let myself get in such a state again mentally that I had promised myself for years that wouldn't happen, thankfully I was still living on my own so I was able to sort myself out in my own time.

Not starting up driving lessons again earlier, although I'm not sure how much difference it would have made as I haven't had one since the november firebreak lockdown.
