I work NHS, not front line but still seeing patients. I think in a department of around 70, probably 11 haven't caught it

None of us - must be 50 or 60 of us in our building. We're community based though so transmission risk in the service is reduced.

I haven’t, colleague has just gone off with it this week and the people they worked with have gone into self isolation but this is the first time this has happened since March

CosmicComfort · 09/01/2021 21:04

Me! And none of the ward I work on have had it. The other wards within the (mental health) unit have had staff and patient cases but the only case we had was an agency nurse who got a positive result after working a shift. No one else had tested positive since they worked.

We have been very, very lucky. All staff now do lateral flow testing as well and now have access to the vaccine.

Me, front line

wonkylegs · 09/01/2021 21:09

DH was in a handful of staff in his hospital department who hasn't caught it yet for which I'm very glad (I'm immunosuppressed) it's been a heartbreaking week with a staff member dying and another whose parent has died and looks like they caught it from the staff member (they are an emotional mess with this knowledge )
DH has had his first jab which is a good step.

Two of my DC have worked from the start/ are still working on central London Covid wards and neither have caught it, astonishingly. They also both only got their first shot of vaccine this week. I've no idea how this is the case other than our family is large and we may have more immunities than smaller families - but it's still extremely odd.

I work in a GP surgery; about 35 members of staff aged 18-70. Three had it in March, nine since 🤞. We had first vaccine three weeks ago.

I have lots of medical friends and family. Ballpark 15-20 people, and only 1 has had it. And he barely noticed it (recently qualified Dr).

SunbathingDragon · 09/01/2021 21:19

Not yet but five colleagues are in hospital with it at the moment. I do far fewer hours and I’m sure that’s why.

Lalaland44 · 09/01/2021 21:24

Out of a team of 4 I’m the only one not to have caught it! I am part of the Siren study so I am tested every 2 weeks and an antibody test every month. Lateral flow test twice a week. Had 1st vaccination Thursday Grin.

Sidge · 09/01/2021 21:30

I’m in primary care, medium sized practice.

None of us have had Covid (clinical and non clinical).

I’ve had a negative antibody test (twice!).

We’ve started receiving our vaccines, I think most of us have had at least one dose.

We’re now doing twice weekly LFT.

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 09/01/2021 21:33

me - patient facing, but not acute/emergency care. I work PT and am only in the hospital two days though -WFH two days.

Although I am the only one in my team of 6 not to have got it from a recent outbreak on one of our wards.

Jent13c · 09/01/2021 21:45

Acute emergency care ward of around 30 staff. Only one nurse has had it so far and she is the most cautious and diligent nurse I know, we think it was probably from an FY1 rather than a patient.

Bluetrews25 · 09/01/2021 21:59

I've not had it (yet)
Full time, front line, work in ED and acute medical unit, so see people before swab results back. AHP.
Many nurses and doctors in the team have had it. Far fewer of the AHPs have, and we tend to be with patients very physically close for longer than any other staff group.
Constantly getting 'oh, Billy who you saw yesterday was positive' situations.
Doing LFTs twice a week and had my jab today.
Crediting my fizzy vitamins, vigilant hygiene and shower and hairwash on getting home. Worked so far, hope it continues.

winterchills · 09/01/2021 22:05

I haven't and front line. Our of my team there's more staff that have had it than haven't. I've managed to dodge it so far!
