Handling the tiredness

I’m on day 10 of symptoms.

I had a fever just for one day and diarrhoea on and off, otherwise the symptoms have been cough (still coughing) and tiredness. Last night I looked at my watch reproachfully at 8.30pm because I was so keen for it to be bed time.

This morning, I feel fine. I could envisage going out for a short walk (I won’t, because I’m still in isolation, but I feel physically up to it, I mean). But if yesterday was anything to go by, then by mid-afternoon I will just be wanting to sit down.

How have people managed the tiredness once you are “well enough” to work? I wfh anyway and have a great deal of flexibility. I was thinking of trying maybe 2 hours in the morning and 1 in the afternoon and see how I go.....

Maybe it would be better to go to bed for an hour in the afternoon? I have been sleeping longer at night than I normally do.

I would say if you're tired sleep or at least lie down.

You have Coronavirus. I doubt anyone would have a problem with a phased return to work. They'll just be relieved you are recovering enough to be back doing some work.

Afternoon naps are actually very good for you.

Just be careful you dont try and do too much too soon and that includes trying to cram a day's activities into the morning because it's your best time. The payback can be terrible.

Work wise I did what you are suggesting- phased return (wfh) couple hours in the morning, 1 in the afternoon, built it up gradually as I could. If you have a bad day, dont force it.
