So I'm in my workplace (big open plan office) 4/5 days. This week I did five days in the office and it's packed everyday. I feel that the emphasis has changed to WFH should be minimal.
So many days I come in and there isn't one task which cannot be done from home. I try to answer the phones for my colleagues when they work from home but apart from running the odd drug chart from the wards to the duty dr I don't need to be in the building.
My main reason why I come in is for solidarity with the nursing team but I don't feel that I'm actually helping the NHS as a whole to be spreading possible virus's around the place! I resisted WFH at first as I was relatively new to my role but now I feel more confident, I could be just as useful at home three days a week.
How are other divisions of NHS admin doing WFH? Do you have a rota with one person in to answer phones and do any scanning? I'm also cautious as some admin jobs just aren't possible from home (ward clerk/ reception) and I want us to all be in it together, as so to speak.
Drs aren't keen on WFH either!!
