Has anyone had COVID toes?

Feel generally well, no particular risky contacts, but have developed two painful, bright red, swollen toes and rest of feet look a bit purply too. It's the skin not the joints and there are no blisters or sores, but only been there for the last 24 hours.

It is cold here, so could be chilblains but I've not been out of the house much. I've logged it on ZOE so may be called up for a test anyway. I'm just curious really, the fourth toe is almost luminous pink! The reports say they're often painless.

My husband had Covid fingers. Three of them were enormous and purple at the tips. His fingernails came off. His Covid wasn’t dreadful but it took him about 4 months to get back to full health (he’s a healthy guy normally).

Thanks @Mistlewoeandwhine ( great name) did they come on with his symptoms? I'm waiting on a face-to-face training course, so don't want to book if I could infect anyone!

They came slightly later. Normal Covid stuff then the fingers were maybe two weeks down the line,
They stayed like that for ages btw.

My DD (16) woke up like this one day over the Xmas period.
So painful could hardly walk - admitted to hospital with ‘ Covid toe ‘
Covid test came back negative -consultant said it usually appears after the infection and quite common in teenagers. They will have no other symptoms though.

I developed red, swollen toes on both feet with a couple of blisters at the end of November. I hadn’t been ill, nor had any of my family. I thought at first they were from my new running shoes or chilblains (which I had once as a teen waiting in the cold for the school bus). I then noticed I had some strange markings on my fingers too. After researching medical papers, it suggested that COVID toe appears some time post infection, in younger individuals (I’m 44 so not very young) with mild or asymptomatic infection. I also took an antibodies test but it came back negative. So I’m not too sure what this means in terms of my body’s exposure to the virus and how it might react in the future. All very strange.

Interesting thanks. ZOE called me for a test, so I've done that, but totally asymptomatic otherwise. I'm early fifties so not in the usual demographic and LF tests over the last few weeks have been negative ( for what that's worth.)

I do sometime get Raynaud's and it's really cold here at the moment, so i think chilblains are more likely-though I've not had those since I was 9!
