I took my son 15 days for his temperature to come down. And that was with repeated ibuprofen and paracetamol (GP okayed it).

You really need to take it easy with this illness. The people I know who’ve suffered the most are those who’ve tried to work through it and not rested properly.

I didnt get a temperature but my friend ran one for 12 days straight.

Oh and the better/worse thing is really typical. You need to rest, rest and rest some more, even when you feel better for a bit.

I can see why you are scared, it is scary. You are in the period where you are likely to feel worse, and this is true even if you dont become dangerously ill (what I'm trying to say is that it's normal to get worse in days 5-10 but doing so doesn'tnecessarily mean you'll end up with severe COVID).

The two big things to keep an eye on are your breathing and your temperature. Do you have an oximeter? Temp wise, how high is it and does it respond to paracetamol/ ibruphrophen? The fact that it is coming down for periods is very positive.

Both of my dc had intermittent fevers until day 6 when they both became much more unwell and DS then had a fever consistently until day 10. Much more unwell in their cases did not mean breathing issues though. More high fever, vomiting, lots of pain, aches, shivering, headaches etc. They seemed really fluey iyswim with catarrh and sinus pain and raging fevers. No breathing issues.

Yes it is normal to feel a bit better then relapse. My temperature continued to spike then settle for about 6 weeks until I was hospitalised. Can't really remember what happened then. But others have said you need to properly rest as in stay in bed, nap in the day, don't do anything taxing. Hope you feel better soon Flowers
