Buses

Large northern city . Our buses are sticking to their usual timetable. Fair enough at peak times but during the day they are running with just a few passengers. Is the government funding this? a real waste of fuel. Lots of double deckers driving around on high frequency routes nearly empty

Same here in Yorkshire, I travel at just before or around peak times and a lot quieter.

People still need to get to work, doctors and so on, so yes, buses are still running. And they will be running outside peak times because not everyone works on a 9-5 schedule.

Buses here are running virtually empty, the most I have seen was back in July. Hardly any School children were using the buses, but they still have to run. The local vaccination hub is on the bus route and quite a few elderly are using buses to get there.

Ours are running a Saturday service which is still very frequent, maybe less early morning buses but you definitely wouldn't struggle to get around. I don't think the buses are government run, aren't they all private operators??

Mrsjayy · 08/01/2021 08:32

The government don't run buses do they? Anyway buses running so people can get to work do their.shopping and what not of course they are not going to be full but I'm sure bus companies be will be running at a loss!

Mrsjayy · 08/01/2021 08:34

I think ours is running a reduced service.

Frozenintime · 08/01/2021 19:06

They are running a normal service. They must be getting government funding or would go bankrupt. First Bus were already struggling
