Is this considered travel for work?

I need to get an item fixed for my work. The repairer (very specialised) lives 80 miles away, and I can't post this item. Would I, under the new guidelines, be allowed to travel to get it fixed?

If you can drive it to the specialist then a courier service could send it overnight. Heavy and bulky items can be sent by courier too.

Why would adding another person into the mix (courier) be safer?

It's extremely delicate - the sort that will shatter if placed the wrong way up/at the wrong angle etc - that's why I can't send it by courier

Of course it's legal. You need something fixed in order to do your job, it can't be fixed at your place so you need to travel to have that done.
