PCR Tests - help?!

I tested positive for covid at the start of December. Very very mild, headaches, felt really tired, sore eyes. All fine. Track & Trace told me I mustn’t get another test for 90 days as it would be likely to show a false positive from dead virus cells.

All fine except now I have caught something that’s got Rona symptoms. I’ve got a cough, an awful headache & I’m warm. So do I test? How do I know if it’s genuinely positive? My daughter goes to nursery & is currently full of cold so could certainly just be that.. I’m happy to isolate myself regardless but I’m not subjecting my two kids to isolation for the 100th time if I don’t need too. They deserve some fresh air & a walk amid this shit show..

No comments telling me to not be stupid please. It’s been a very tough year with young children, I’m very angry at the effect on my daughters mental health from the isolation & I do not wish to subject her to more than I have too. I think it’s horrendous so many are dying but I also have to think about my child.

I think getting another test at this stage wouldn't help you either way, but is your daughter getting tested?

I don't know, but I am sorry you are feeling unwell. I think I would rest up anyway because Covid can have a resurgence 3-4 weeks later and this might be happening?

Who is Rona?

@TheNighthawk

Who is Rona?
I'm sure you can work it out

Sorry but with new symptoms you need to test and isolate, and your household need to isolate too. Already having had it doesn’t change the need to isolate. I get that it’s hard with young children but you do need to. Imagine if they spread it round nursery!
