23 month old coronavirus

Hi

My 23 month old had coronavirus over Christmas and since then she hasn't eaten a proper meal. She is just picking at food. I know when I had it I lost my appetite and sense of taste/smell but because she's so young and can't explain to me I'm lost.

Has anyone else experienced this in a toddler and did they go back to eating properly?

I'm sorry your DC was ill xx

Yes, I have heard of children having a loss of appetite as a symptom.

My kid always stops eating when she’s poorly. Picks at carbs & yoghurt. Never been anything to worry about. Appetite comes back once feeling better. I just let her eat what she asks for (within reason) & do keep an eye on fluid intake. If they stop drinking, that’s more concerning.

She’s probs lost her sense of taste. I suspect my 9 month did as she rejected nearly everything including milk for a couple days. Thankfully, water seemed ok!

*by my kid - I have two. My eldest is 3.5 and just doesn’t eat when poorly!

My DS had coronavirus in December he had a few days where he refused food completely and other days where he would be really picky. He usually ate breakfast so would try to fill him up as much as possible then. He seems to be back to eating pretty much as normal now.

He's 18months.

Thank you everyone, she wasn't a massive eater before hand so now it seems like nothing.

All she's had today is 1.5 chipolata, 1 stick of pineapple, 1 drive, 1 orange and half a bag of veggie crisps.
