Is there anything us oldies can do to help?

I've read a lot of posts on here where people are struggling with work and kids etc.
I'm sure that there's plenty of us on here with older children, not in a high risk category, maybe furloughed or not working and basically twiddling our thumbs.
Is there any way we can help out?
I've had a good think and can't really come up with anything useful at the moment and obviously not suggesting that we add to the already massive problems by running around doing things we are not supposed to do!

I do have kids and a job!
The children are in their 20s. One at home and one living with their partner who we can't see.
I'm furloughed but to be honest, my life had already taken a different turn before all this had kicked off and I was enjoying the luxury of time on my hands for the first time in over 30 years.
I only used 'oldies' as a general term, meaning it's likely that some of us just don't have the responsibilities that some younger people do.

If you catch covid you may be one of the ones in ICU. The old dont get a bed, you would as you'll survive with medical care, may not without it. Long covid is a risk too. Get vaccinated when they offer it to you. Counteract any rubbish you seen on Facebook that is anti-vaccine. Share things like this www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/health-55540701

Volunteer to steward for the vaccination programme. Donate to your local food bank. Join your local Facebook page and find out if there is a volunteer network. We have passed on books to older people who are shielding, supported the food bank, buy takeaways to support the local restaurants, ordered click and collect from local shops, donated to local animal charities, given children books to the local school to pass on.

If you have useable old tech give it to the school, they will know which children need it most.

If you can sew there may still be special schools who would benefit from scrubs, ask them first or ask on the local Facebook page.
