Hospital staff... what can we do to help? Is it helpful to send food/ meals?

I know the main thing everyone needs to do to help is do their best not to spread the virus. But I was just remembering news stories from the first lockdown of people sending food to help staff in hospitals who don't get time to eat or are too shattered to prepare a proper meal after their shift.

I'd like to do something like this to try to help if I can. I have no medical training but could maybe do some small things to help the people working in hospitals / ambulances etc.

I'm not sure how you would go about it though? Can you request 5 meals from a takeaway be sent to the local hospital for whoever wants them? Or is that daft and unhelpful and just going to cause more hassle to already busy staff? Can you leave money with a local food provider so people can call and order what they want?
Just interested to hear what (if anything) I can do / send to help. Thanks x

Maybe ask on a local Facebook post? Our COVID aid group are doing a fantastic job in suppling snacks to local hospital and happily take donations of food / cash

First lock down afew hospitals done Amazon wish-lists.
Sadly there were things like ‘PPE’ on it too
But also things like Cans of drink, diet coke was popular, as well as cereal bars / high protein bars. Crisps, Quick snack and run things

Sadly i think they got told off for it
But sure you could send this to A&E?

Ah these are good suggestions. I don't do Facebook but I might ask my sister to have a look for me.
