If you're NHS, have you been vaccinated?

I keep seeing loads of people in the NHS have been vaccinated.

Our trust doesn't have a single vaccine to give out yet. Is this a postcode lottery thing? I work directly with covid patients sometimes and other wards the rest of the time and they're saying hopefully in February we will be vaccinated.

Is this common across the NHS?

I had the Pfizer vaccine last week, my appointment for the 3 week follow up has been cancelled though.
I work on a Covid Cpap ward, as far as I know vaccine was only offered to staff that work in Covid areas in my trust at present.

Motorina · 05/01/2021 22:30

It's a postcode lottery thing. My trust has rolled out to ECV staff only. The ones who have been home on full pay since March. With no expectation they will return to the workplace once vaccinated, because they're still shielding.

Meanwhile, those of us actually in treating patients have been given no indication of timeframe.

I'm pleased for my vulnerable colleagues, but I'm also finding it really hard not to feel bitter about this.

I had first Pfizer jab on 31st Dec and we’ve been told we’ll get the second in three weeks. My Trust (large London one) seems to have enough to vaccinate all staff, as I’m very far from frontline. Does seem to be a bit of a postcode lottery going on.

Greysparkles · 05/01/2021 22:33

Essex here, ours have started as I think vaccines were allocated to this area when the new strain became apparent

Silvergreen · 05/01/2021 22:37

All staff offered vaccine in ours. Even me in the finance department!

Princessdebthe1st · 05/01/2021 22:37

I’m having my vaccine tomorrow. Our Trust (large London trust) has vaccinated several thousand (patients and staff) and all staff can book a slot for a vaccine.

muddypuddled · 05/01/2021 22:39

I had a Pfizer vaccine before Christmas, large trust itu sister. They have been bringing in over 80s, care home patients and staff to vaccinate and then if they have some left at the end of the day all front line staff are asked to go so they're not wasting any. My 2nd vaccine has been put back to March though.

Pomegranatespompom · 05/01/2021 22:40

Had mine yesterday - 2nd booked, no idea if we will get it though. London trust aiming to vaccinate all staff by mid Feb (with 1st dose anyway).

missmeg3leg · 05/01/2021 22:44

Had mine 31st Dec, & 2nd dose booked for 11th Feb, so 6 wk gap at my trust (Covid ICU / theatres)

dicdicnurse · 05/01/2021 22:44

Welsh hospital here. I had mine mid December as did most of my colleagues but our seconds doses have all been postponed. The whole hospital was offered at the same time regardless of role etc

SilverOtter · 05/01/2021 22:44

Warwickshire. Have just been notified that we can book in for the vaccine from tomorrow.

Lucked · 05/01/2021 22:46

Yes my trust (in Scotland) started on all acute sites pretty much right away. I got mine in the second week and had been due my 2nd on the 17th but now cancelled. The online appointments go quick so some staff are struggling but with all the cancellations of 2nd round it should feee up plenty for those wanting it.

mouldygrapes · 05/01/2021 22:48

Not yet. Our trust rolled it our Christmas week but I’m pregnant and they haven’t updated the forms yet (apparently waiting for updated forms from MHRA) so can’t book it yet.
We have Pfizer and apparently getting Astra Zeneca next week

Gibble1 · 05/01/2021 22:52

I had mine today, appointments are going fast. My second dose will be in 10 weeks time. I’ve had the Pfizer vaccine.

storminasnowglobe · 05/01/2021 22:53

Yes. Had mine before Christmas although 2nd dose appointment now been cancelled. Most of my colleagues have also now had their first jabs, a few left to be done later this week. Large GP practice covering 5 sites.

Happychristmashohoho · 05/01/2021 22:54

Yes our trust is rolling out to all staff, starting with most vulnerable before Christmas. Now all staff are able to book on. Plenty of appointments.

Next one not until March though which worries me a bit as I’d like it to have been done as per the manufacturers instructions.

SandAndFog · 05/01/2021 23:08

Same in our Scottish board, I had my Pfizer vaccine in December
Revengeofthepangolins · 05/01/2021 23:25

I don’t see why finance staff etc are being vaccinated when so few over 80 year olds have been.

CountessFrog · 05/01/2021 23:29

Yes, pfeizer, 10 weeks until second dose.

MrsBeltane · 05/01/2021 23:43

I had the 1st dose of Pfizer before Christmas. 2nd dose tomorrow. I've had a message to say it's definitely happening.
I'm community based. A friend who is hospital based had 1st dose yesterday, 2nd in 3 months.

Hangnailing · 05/01/2021 23:46

Not heard a word
Been working on a Covid ward throughout

knackersknockersknickers · 05/01/2021 23:53

Yes. As have most of my community team.

yearnewwhatever · 06/01/2021 06:39

It seems quite unfair that whole NhS trusts could be vaccinated even in low risk areas when other trusts have no vaccines to give out to covid staff at least ☹️

AnyFucker · 06/01/2021 06:42

Skipsurvey · 06/01/2021 06:42
