Just interested really, you hear so much that 94-100% is Nornal I would have no idea what's not normal with Sats and what to look out for if they were dropped because of Covid.
Has anyone checked with an Oximeter and can share what the readings were if you tested positive with Covid please?

Mine was around 91 for about a week, but I was told to ring back when it was "solidly in the 80s"..this was in march, I suspect the advice is different now!

gooseygooseywanderingfree · 04/01/2021 23:08

Normal is 96-100
Anything under 93 is concerning and should be discussed with a health professional.
Let them know if you desaturate further on exercise.

Got down to 75-80% and felt totally wiped but not as bad as it looked. I do have chronic lung disease though and I’m used to low sats.

MissSmiley · 04/01/2021 23:47

GP was concerned when it went below 90, still managed to stay out of hospital and recovered now

Choconuttolata · 04/01/2021 23:59

DH had sats of 85-89 when he went in recently.

BonnieDundee · 05/01/2021 00:00

92% at worst.

One of our GPs sent someone to hospital with Sats of 94% but they had other reasons to be concerned as well, several other GPs when I asked have said they'd be concerned with Low 90s and definitely 80-anything should get help. Though some people with eg COPD will have a normal range for them of 88-92 so it is dependent on the person.
Sometimes they'll be lower when you're half asleep/resting but some good deep breathing brings it back. My cousin went down to 85% and really should have been in hospital, but she refused. Luckily she was okay.

Surgeries should be giving out Sats monitors on loan to anyone who is bad enough to need one, they will then advise you how often to check and when to take action.

Some mobile phones & smart watches have SP02 monitoring on them, mine do.
