It's the mingling that's the problem and not the schools.

Oh and secondary schools are a bit of a problem and we will have to look at what happens to them later this month

All on SKY news atm.

Matt Hancock on R4 this morning said that the new variant was so infectious that we all must act as if we were infected. Primary schools in London had to close.

But also schools are safe for children, for teachers and the wider community.

Contradictory statements offered in the same interview with equal conviction.

TBF the interviewers don't pull them up on this ... 'but you just said ...'

This reminds me of that animated movie - 'sadly, I died ... but I survived!'

I guess someone's has to have full confidence in their rhetoric.

Even if it's just them themselves Grin

If they shut primary schools then there is no learning for my reception child in reality.

"Remote learning" isn't a thing for 4 year olds. If they have to do it then they have to do it but I think we should be realistic that for the youngest Dc the outcome is often likely to be no education at all for those DC for the period of closure.

I'll try my best but I also have to work in a professional, client facing job.
