Sorry if this is a silly question but it's something that's been worrying me about the prospect of being hospitalised or having an ambulance come out to check me over if I were to catch COVID.
(As you can tell, I'm very anxious about it so please be gentle. Had a negative test on 29th for cold symptoms (blocked up nose/sore throat). Yesterday felt breathless at one point, spoke to 111 who felt it was a panic attack. This morning had a single coughing fit out the blue so desperately hoping it doesn't recur. Also have a mild headache but that could well be down to lack of sleep. I hate this constant worrying.)
I'm probably using all the wrong terminology but I understood that how much virus you are exposed to (viral load) might determine how sick you get, which is why front line medics are are such risk.
So if person A has COVID and goes into hospital needing a bit of oxygen support, if they are then exposed to more COVID in hospital could that actually make them get worse instead of better?
