Phase add any names you know here.

I think a fair few of them, it was going round Westminster in Spring when Boris Johnson and Matt Hancock got it.

Lucidas · 03/01/2021 08:55

Nadine Dorries
Lee Anderson
Matt Handjob
Yasmine Qureshi (hospitalized)

RedToothBrush · 03/01/2021 09:00

Jo Stevens shadow culture Secretary and mp for Cardiff is currently in hospital

Many will have had it but not made it public so it is impossible to count.

middleager · 03/01/2021 09:01

One of our local MPs in Birmingham managed to wangle the vaccine. He's been accused of jumping the queue to get a vaccine.

Far too many not being careful enough like they are telling us to be. Royal Family and celebrities too.

Wetoopere · 03/01/2021 09:38

Simon Fell

PlantMam · 03/01/2021 09:43

Tony Lloyd MP (Rochdale) got sick around the same time as Boris, he was in hospital for over 3 weeks and on a ventilator for 10 days. Didn’t get much press attention nationally:

Weedsnseeds1 · 03/01/2021 09:53

To be fair to the Birmingham MP ( not my MP), he's male, Asian, overweight and assuming it's the same Kalid Mahmood MP, is diabetic and has had a kidney transplant, so I can't begrudge him a shot of leftover vaccine to be honest.

RaspberryCoulis · 03/01/2021 09:59

Why does it matter?

I hate this inference that if you have caught Covid then you're the one at fault. The blame game is ugly and nasty.

You wouldn't tell someone that it was their fault they caught flu, or their child got chicken pox or norovirus.

Just stop it.

poshme · 03/01/2021 10:10

@Weedsnseeds1 yes it was him. I agree- a transplant patient no doubt on immmunsuppressants.

Khalid Mahmood has had a kidney transplant and is BAME.

I do think it was pushy and queue jumping but then on the other hand the Pfizer vaccine has to be used once it’s defrosted. If there’s no one there to have it, it’s destroyed.

I understand his motives tbh.

I am not sure having Pakistani parents makes the virus any more dangerous for him. It is true that on average people from disadvantaged groups are more likely to catch it but that's a different matter.

Then you should get your research data published pronto.

That sounds like you're blaming individuals for catching Covid.

This shouldn't be a blame game. I'm fed up of people being made to feel guilty for catching Covid.

I caught Covid. I was in hospital with it. I followed all the rules and guidelines in place.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 03/01/2021 11:47

Who was the Scottish MP who got the train back to Scotland after a positive test?

PlantMam · 03/01/2021 12:17

I most definitely do not begrudge a transplant patient getting a shot of leftover vaccine, even if he is an MP!

No one should be blamed for contracting the virus either, not getting very ill with it. Research is in such an early stage but there is likely to be a genetic component regarding why it’s so catastrophic for some people and so mild for others, even if they have the same prior diagnosis.

RaspberryCoulis · 03/01/2021 12:54

Margaret Ferrier.

Half hearted "apology", no resignation. Absolute disgrace.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 03/01/2021 13:04

That's it Raspberry. She can't necessarily be blamed for catching it but she can be blamed for potentially spreading it.

RaspberryCoulis · 03/01/2021 13:05

And then not resigning and fobbing people off with a "oh it was a moment of madness".

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 03/01/2021 13:06

Absolutely.

Tinty · 03/01/2021 13:10

Boris Johnson and Carrie whatsherface.

nosswith · 03/01/2021 13:30

Number of MPs is not the issue. What I think should happen is face coverings or shields being worn when in the House of Commons, to set an example.

Carrie Symonds is not an MP, has never been a candidate, and should not be part of this discussion.

"Increased risk among ethnic minorities is largely due to poverty and social disparities, review finds"

That's from www.bmj.com/content/371/bmj.m4099 in October.

There's a certain amount of uncertainty as there always is and research is ongoing
