Just wondering what people's timeline of symptoms were. I am on day 4 of symptoms - mild cough, very very sore back and this morning slight chest pain but nothing too serious. I've read lots of info saying it gets worse around day 5-7 if you had Covid was this the case for you?

Also... almost definitely unrelated but did anyone get mild cystitis type symptoms too

When I was in hospital the staff were discussing day 10 as being the make or break / turning point.

Porcupineintherough · 02/01/2021 11:43

I got worse during the second week. But this wont necessarily happen to you, lots of people dont. If you are still doing ok by day 10 you'll likely continue fine.

worriedcovidmum · 02/01/2021 11:55

I've heard say 10 too. With new guidance Day 10 is surprising though as that's when isolation now ends, so if people take a turn for the worse on day 10 is it not risky for isolation to end then?

Personally day 9 I took a turn but maybe it was actually day 10.

worriedcovidmum · 02/01/2021 12:23

If you took a turn on day 9/10 did you have mild symptoms before that?

I dont think many people go from being just about recovered on day 9 to dangerously ill on day 10. It's more like ill, iller, crisis. And a lot of the most seriously ill reach crisis by day 5 or so.

A more normal progression for mild COVID is feeling not very well but not too bad days 1-5, and worse days 6-10. But it's variable - you can feel spectacularly awful from day 1, or not awful at all.

I had mild cystitis symptoms but just got a day or two.

@worriedcovidmum

I hope you don’t mind me resurrecting your thread. How have you been getting on? I am on what I think is day two (test not confirmed, but DS has a positive test last week). So far it’s very mild for me, but I am worried it’s only the calm before the storm?

Day three of suspected covid. Started with a scratchy throat and a little cough Friday evening. Saturday the same but cough continuous, so I had a test. Today my cough has progressively got worse, fever around 38C and my chest is feeling very tight. The whole time my throat has felt like it's full of cat fur or something. Feeling pretty rough, but no worse than a nasty cold and under normal circumstances I probably would be calling in sick tomorrow, but thankfully or unthankfully ConfusedI'm furloughed again. Hopefully I get the results soon, so I know either way.

@Verybookish
I'm out of isolation now and thankfully my symptoms didn't get any worse at all. I had back pain the first couple of days then a mild cough that's still lingering and my sense of smell disappeared it is coming back still not 100percent though. My DS & DH have both tested positive - their isolation ends on Wednesday and so far neither have any symptoms, just praying it stays that way as DS is only 7 weeks old. My other DS is 2 and hasn't had a test but hasn't had any symptoms either.

For me the worry was the worst thing about having Covid and the not knowing how it would affect us. I hope you have a mild case. I slept on my front for the 10 days and took lemsip anytime I was feeling peaky and my cough didn't progress at all, I'm not sure if this had anything to do with it but worth a shot.
