Specialist schools in tier 4 areas are staying open for now, will you be sending your children in?

My DS is on a specialist college course. I will be sending him in if it is running. He only gets a year on this course and I can't waste it. Plus as they are older they are social distancing etc

Yes. He was in last time. The risks for him are greater being out than in and we are very careful so the risk of him taking anything in is very small.

We are. The smaller pupil numbers have made it easier for social distancing, and there have only been a couple of cases in their school at all so far.

The detrimental effect on education/development and mental health to our daughter when she didn't attend during the first closures was huge.

I would but it is closed for the next 2 weeks (at least) so no option to. As soon as it reopens, she will be going back.

Yes. The class size is 3 in a massive classroom. The school have had really good routines in place. I’m a bit wobbly about the transport part, although it is a taxi rather than a crowded bus and we did fine last term.

In the first lockdown he didn’t go because we could have him at home. But it was awful and his mental health was really impacted. As was all of ours and it made schooling his older sibling nearly impossible. If any of us were particularly vulnerable then we’d weigh up the risk/benefit differently. But as it is school feels as safe as it can be, and the need feels high enough.

No, SEN schools have been instructed to test all students and staff so the first week back is going to be a nightmare. special schools in my LEA have given (encouraged ) the option of keeping students off until the 11th to give them chance to get organised.
Although I desperately want my dd to be in school my dh is ecv and shielding so we need to be cautious.
