If allowed to stay open will you send your LO in?

I will- A 3 yr old and an 8 wk old, nothing open, I’m desperate to keep my eldest busy and socialising in some format.

Just interested in others thoughts?

Yes.

Not a chance I would in those circumstances. Never used childcare when not at work regardless but certainly wouldn’t be using it when not absolutely essential in the middle of a pandemic. Children can get ill with it and spread to staff, those with vulnerable family members etc.

I'm planning to so we can work. Our nursery have been really good at reporting positive cases, isolating bubbles etc. Early years education is so important so on balance I think it's still worth the risk.

HCP, so we will have to. I imagine they will shut pretty quickly though 🤷‍♀️

IrishMamaMia · 01/01/2021 21:42

Meant to say mine are just a bit older than yours OP. Anyway, I worry that there'll be a point where they close again and although I'm a key worker, I'm not 100 per cent sure I'll still qualify for a place so I want to embrace the normality of our nursery who are managing well with public health measures, while they're still open.

I imagine the school linked pre schools may close, hoping the private ones stay open. The thought of them being closed fills me with dread. It was only bearable last time thanks to the weather. I’ve seen zero evidence of kids so young falling sick and fortunately have no at risk or elderly people in my family.

Yes, absolutely. DD (who is nearly 4) is in a nursery linked to a private school and I am hoping it will stay open.

We do not have any high risk people in our family. DD needs socialisation (her social skills are slightly but noticeably behind those of her peers) so the benefits of her spending time with other children, in our opinion, outweigh potential risks.
