If you’ve had the Pfizer vaccination, what side effects have you had?

I had my vaccination yesterday, and along with a headache and feeling achy, l have a temperature of 37.2. I don’t think a temperature is in the list of symptoms. What have others experienced?

Frontline on COVID ward and advised to have it - was happy to wait but the ID advice was go ahead
@Elephant4 The government have decided that they will give more people the first vaccine and to do this they will have to delay the 2nd one for people who have already had the first one. The problem is Pfizer have said that their second jab should be given within 21 days of the first to reach the 95% efficacy. I'm devastated for my mum who was due her 2nd one shortly.
The vaccine has to be given at least 21 days from the first. Not within. I believe it is 21-28+5 is the window, from when I was booking my second.

I had the first dose (Pfizer) and had a tiny sore spot at the injection site for 24 hours.

Then I got Covid 8 days afterwards (just unlucky!) But symptoms lasted 2 days and I think duration was eased by developing antibodies in my body.

I’ve just had the second dose. My arm is more sore, I’ve had chills and my temperature is 38.9.

However, they do expect slightly worsening symptoms after second dose in some people because your immune system has already been primed to fight COVID after the first dose. So it’s just my immune system waking up and doing it’s job.

Slightly unpleasant, but not dangerous and I would choose to have the vaccine again. Some of my colleagues have had no symptoms after second dose. Recommend day off work the following day after the second dose if you can!

Begonias · 08/01/2021 03:18

I had my second dose on Tuesday, by the evening I felt the chills, sore arm all the way down to the fingertips. Wednesday had a temperature, myalgia, nausea, blinding headache, dry mouth and tongue felt like a Brillo pad. Thursday day I was completely fine!

On a side note I do have several autoimmune conditions and my body plays hell even with a cold so I'm not surprised I had a strong reaction. I was convinced I actually had covid as I felt so ill,it was a pleasant surprise waking up feeling fine on day number 3. It's good to know my body is doing something right for a change 😂

joystir59 · 08/01/2021 04:08

37.2 would be a fever for me. My normal temperature is never above 36.5

Ceeceegreen · 08/01/2021 11:24

I recieved my second vaccine on Tuesday and I'm only starting to feel a bit normal today(3 days later) . I woke up on Wednesday as if I had been hit by a bus!! Roaring temp, headache, nausea, aches and pains all over my body. I had absolutely no symptoms after the first one except for a midly tender arm.

Milliways · 08/01/2021 18:28

I had mine yesterday and felt really rough today, struggled to get through at work. Arm a lot more painful than with flu jab and a constant low level headache and just feeling a bit fluey. Roll on the weekend to laze about and recover.

foodtoorder · 08/01/2021 18:54

I had 2nd Pfizer vaccine yesterday and I am aching today. All over!
No other issues.
Had no effect from 1st vaccine though.

LesCuriousCat · 08/01/2021 18:56

I had it three weeks ago and no symptoms apart from a slightly sore arm.

LesCuriousCat · 08/01/2021 18:57

Only had the first dose btw.

Spaghettipie1 · 08/01/2021 18:58

@lazylockdowner

My sister tested postive today. She had her vaccine 10 days ago she really poorly and has t been out of bed since Christmas Day
I have a couple of friends caught it after the jab, immunity doesn't start for 20-14 days I think, then not 100%. So gutting!

Also a temp is quite common after any vaccine, and is mentioned in the side effects.

Mooey89 · 08/01/2021 18:58

No side effects other than slightly sore arm and felt a tiny bit groggy day of, but could just be from working 3546 hours per day

AnyFucker · 08/01/2021 18:59

I have sore arm, feel flu-y, aching joints, neck pain and no appetite.

2010Aussie · 08/01/2021 19:00

My Mum slept for 11 hours after having the second jab. Woke up the next morning feeling great. No other symptoms. She's in her late 80s and in a better state generally than me!

SilverOtter · 08/01/2021 19:01

None. Had mine the day before yesterday and I feel fineSmile

Bluntness100 · 08/01/2021 19:03

Op do you have anxiety? You don’t have a temperature. The nhs says over 38 is a high temp, so your body temp is normal.

So you basically have a headache and feel achy, just take some nurofen or something. You’re fine. 💐

ThisMustBeMyDream · 08/01/2021 19:05

Had mine Wednesday morning. Sore arm immediately which worsened over the next 24 hours (so so sore!) and is now radiating in to my neck. Like when you've slept funny. Except it started hours after waking! Last night I was exhausted and went to bed at 7.30pm and slept for 13.5 hours. No other effects yet. I must admit I am apprehensive over my 2nd dose now! Not exactly thrilled with a useless arm, but worth it for this shit to end!!

Tigergrey · 08/01/2021 19:05

My mum was fine after first jab, no symptoms but then was in bed for 48 hours after second jab with high fever, head pain, the most ill she has ever felt, apparently. Her NHS colleagues reported this too, all now fine again.

Icequeen01 · 08/01/2021 19:07

I'm taking my 81 year old mother to have her 2nd jab tomorrow. She had no side effects from the first so it will be interesting to see how she gets on with this one.

BethHarmon · 08/01/2021 19:07

37.2 would be a fever for me. My normal temperature is never above 36.5

Have you checked your temp at different times of the day? It can fluctuate quite a bit from morning to evening.
I don’t think 37.2 would be considered a temp even under these circumstances.

Dreamingofvenice · 08/01/2021 19:12

I had a really sore arm the next day and felt super tired but was ok by the following day. Have hear lots of ppl saying second doe sis worse but I'll be waiting a while for that anyway!

MajesticWhine · 08/01/2021 19:16

Had mine yesterday. Sore arm. Slight headache, enough to take a couple of paracetamol. Tiredness (but I have been feeling tired all week).

2010Aussie · 08/01/2021 19:16

Icequeen My Mum was worse with the first than she was with the second. I hope all goes well for your mum.

BTW I had to have a tetanus jab for work once. I was completely doolally for a couple of days afterwards. No physical symptoms - just totally spaced out. Not unpleasant actually being legally high.

Icequeen01 · 08/01/2021 21:06

Thank you 2010Aussie. I am just so pleased that she is getting the 2nd one. I was expecting it to be cancelled.

dollymoo · 08/01/2021 21:09

No side effects for me I'm 4 days post vaccine.
