Anyone's child test positive with only a temperature?

Our 3 year old DS woke up this morning with a temp of 39, no cough and other than being a little more tired seems his usual self. We've already informed nursery and he had a covid test this afternoon.

This has come at a really crappy time (although I respect there's never a good time!) as my anomaly scan for DC2 is scheduled for Monday morning, due to covid delays this was the first appointment they could offer me and I'll already be nearly 22 weeks then. When I called them to let them know about my DS they said the only issue if his test comes back positive is that the next time they could book me in is when I'll be over 26 weeks... Which also worries me as I've been told I'm at a slightly higher risk this time of baby having certain health issues so we were banking on having the anomaly scan before the 24 week cut off for termination. (I'm not saying that we would, but DH and I have always been open that we'd seriously consider whether to continue if something isn't ok so would want to have the option open to consider).

So, the rambling context aside, has anyone here had a child test positive when their only symptom was a raised temperature? Trying not to go slightly nuts whilst waiting for results 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thanks!

Fairly normal for a child to test positive with just a temperature. Lots of adults start with a temperature and the cough comes later.

My logical brain knows this 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think due to my current state of stress I was hoping people would tell me theirs had the cough at least. But realistically I guess a lot of cases in children are asymptomatic so wouldn't even have the temperature. Just wish the timing of this was different.

Sorry. Hope you get a negative result soon and your DC is ok.

I would contact hospital again and ask if cancellation slots, another hospital with availability etc.

Really push to them you are losing your right to choice with an at risk pregnancy.

I get we are in a pandemic and things are tough but I'm sure they could also do "something" to help?

Hope test is negative.

Hospital weren't able to offer anything else but had his result this evening and thank god it's negative. Plus his temperature has pretty much gone and he's back to being his usual self, so I'm feeling happy and relieved!
