Face to face teaching for vulnerable/key workers children?

Gav said that vulnerable and key workers children will get face to face lessons. How is that going to work if the teachers have to teach online lessons too?
My child’s school was planning to sit those in school for the above reasons in front of computers so they could join in with the Teams lessons. Will most schools do that despite Gav saying they will get face to face?

I would imagine the children in school will be taking part in the teams / online lessons with an adult in the same room supervising. It's simply not feasible to have quality, online lessons delivered AND provide face to face teaching of a high quality. He's not living in the real world an has no idea how schools operate!

Gav is dreaming

CodenameVillanelle · 30/12/2020 16:56

They won't get face to face they will get online learning in a classroom supervised by a staff member. Gav is a dickhead.

Pop them on school competes/bring thier own if they have them and teach them all on line then

So can key worker secondary kids go in on Monday?

MaureenMLove · 30/12/2020 17:01

It'll be the same as it was in the first lockdown. At our school, they'll be about 30 kids in school. As others have said, they'll be in the computer rooms, doing the same online learning as those at home.

Of course, a couple of our computer rooms will be needed for yr 11 and 13 public exams at the end of the week and others will be needed for staff to learn how to do the testing and we'll also need to work out where this testing is going to take place, allowing for an isolation room nearby, for those that test positive. BUT Mr Williamson has thought this through and it's easy! Hmm

Have you advised the school you need a place?
W00dlandWalk · 30/12/2020 17:04

No I think we had an email last day of term saying they’d scrutinise the list to see who was eligible. Understandably not heard anything since.

MaureenMLove · 30/12/2020 17:05

I expect they were waiting for today's announcement and you'll have notification before the end of the week.

Cactusowl · 30/12/2020 17:07

@W00dlandWalk my children’s schools are both closed to all students on Monday (emergency inset).

Ah or Monday if inset.

Our school is doing online for key worker and vulnerable that go in, not sure if y11 will get face to face as that's the whole year but given the lack of notice wouldn't be surprised if that's online as well. They sent a message saying bring your own laptop to students that go in if you can.
