Isolating

I have searched the threads but can't find one to answer my question.

I have Covid symptoms and have had a test and I'm isolating. I live with 2 other adults and they don't believe they need to isolate.

I have looked on the gov website and I'm sure It quite clearly states they do need to isolate, however one of their managers has said they are able to go to work.

We're going round in circles..can anyone please clarify.

They should isolate until and unless you test negative, or for 10 days.

Until you get your results back, everyone in your household needs to isolate. If it comes back negative then they wont need to

See www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/when-to-self-isolate-and-what-to-do/ - anyone you live with needs to isolate.

Thank you for the info. I thought I was right but they weren't having any of it.

Of course they need to isolate until you get your result. If negative they can return to normal. If positive they continue to isolate.

Yes they need to isolate until your test is negative or 10 days from start of your symptoms if it's positive and they don't have any symptoms.

I am in this position myself.

They may be getting confused with isolation if you were isolating with no symptoms just as a close contact of someone else outside the household who had tested positive. Then they wouldn't need to isolate.

You can see why people get confused.
