EasterIssland · 30/12/2020 07:33

Lockdown forever and ever til it’s 40c degrees for a month in this country
TheAlphaandtheOmega · 30/12/2020 07:35

That is good news as it can be rolled out easily to the local GP practices

Castiel07 · 30/12/2020 07:44

Just with more restrictions and school not opening up for a while. People might stick to it more if they know there is a way out.

Convenient timing, huh

Absolutely convenient timing, it is really great news and hopefully one of our ways out. But I think things are going to be really difficult until spring.

It's great news.

However the announcement is purely political, Announced at 7am so was probably approved yesterday so why wait until today, oh yes it's beginning of news cycle.

Eyewhisker · 30/12/2020 08:21

Stock market rules also affect when it can be announced.

Thatwentbadly · 30/12/2020 08:21

Great news. I’m assuming this one has not been approved for breast feeding women too?

Groundhogdayzz · 30/12/2020 08:22

That’s great news! Now let’s try and get our vulnerable/older teachers vaccinated.

FuzzyPuffling · 30/12/2020 08:25

Oh you bunch of cynics...this is very good news indeed. No "buts" needed just now.

TammyTwoSwanson · 30/12/2020 08:25

Great news!!!

Vinosaurus · 30/12/2020 08:26

Great. Was stopped from booking my vaccine yesterday (healthcare worker) due to an anaphylactic reaction to an iron infusion last year. Still going to be a shit few months ahead of us though.

Wonder if they're going to do the 1.5 doses which seemed more effective.

EasterIssland · 30/12/2020 11:16

Don’t think there is info about it. I’m hoping it’s ! The technology has been used before so it’s new as the Pfizer one so hoping that despite its not been tested ... it’s still safe to be used
EasterIssland · 30/12/2020 11:29

@Thatwentbadly just seen this in the breastfeeding network fb page seems like both are now allowed !

Castiel07 · 30/12/2020 14:01

What I gathered from the press conference regarding vaccines.
Was that both vaccines for covd in the UK are now able to be used by pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
Like a lot of medicines and vaccines it will be dependent on individual circumstances and if the risk to the mother outweighs the risk of having the vaccine.

Defenbaker · 30/12/2020 14:32

They said that the 2nd jab can be given up to 12 weeks later, which is great as it buys a bit more time. The logistics of vaccinating the whole adult population (about 53 million, I think) will not be easy, but with the army involved it's doable in 6 months, perhaps.
